Club Tempo Rides on Wednesday have started, for more info go to the CycleClubApp.
The OCC Open-house is scheduled for April 28, 2024. Pre-ride starts at 11am. The open-house will be between 1:30pm and 3:30pm.
Our friendship ride with the Kingston Velo Club is scheduled for May 4, 2024.
Your OCC Board created a new position for a Safety Advocate, Richard Oldfield has assumed these duties with Kim Alexander being our Alternate Safety Advocate.

Weekly Ride Schedule

Location: Courtice Community Center
Need to Know: Traditional morning club ride. Routes will be determined at the ride start.
There will be a stop at a coffee shop or bakery. Normally 60 km distance with the option for more.
Suitable for C+ to B level riders.

Need to Know: OCC's Signature Club Ride, with rides distances ranging from 35/40 km to 60 km and more.
Suitable for C to A level riders.
Up to three times during the summer, we will feature Pizza Nights with complimentary pizza and cold drinks.

Plan is for a 40km ride at the start of the season, progressing to 80km
Minimum of RL plus 4 riders signed up on the CycleCubApp is required for this ride to go ahead.
Ride style will be social pace line with rotating 2 riders thru at a time.
Plan for the Pace to be 26-28 kph at the start of the season, progressing to 30-32 kph.
Riders should be comfortable riding in a pace line, communicating hazards verbally, as well as with standard hand signals.
There will be a pre-ride discussion, and an optional post ride 5 min debrief.

Need to Know: Club ride offering B and C level rides . Will be used as a training ride for groups, pace line and cycling etiquette.

Need to Know: Thursday Evening Signature Club Ride, with ride distances ranging from 35 km to 50 km.
Suitable for C level riders.

The perfect way to end the work week. This is a new ride added to the calendar which has a post ride social component. Post ride, stay and socialize at either Chuck’s Roadhouse or Tim Horton’s.
Start: April 19th 6 pm
Location: Meet at the parking lot at The Helping Hands Daycare, northwest corner of Thickson Road and Taunton Road.
This is suitable for B level riders. Distances will start at 40 km and increase over the season to 60 km.

Richard’s Saturday Theme Rides
Rides start in April, on select Saturdays and continue throughout the riding season. There will be a different start location each week. Rides ar typically 40 km in distance and this ride is suitable for C and C+ level riders.

Gravel rides will start in May.
Different gravel rides will be offered throughout the season with remote start locations and various Ride Leaders.

Time: 6 pm
Location: Osborne Road and Energy Drive, Courtice.
Need to Know: Meet at the corner of Osborne Road and Energy Drive. (park on Osborne North of Energy Drive). Three lap loop, 15.8 kms. This is not a group ride or race, but rather a chance to see your time improved over the course of the season, while riding the same route.

Remote Start Rides

PEC Lilac Ride
Date: TBD
Time 10 am
Location: Bloomfield Bicycle Company, Bloomfield Ontario
Need to Know: Our Annual Lilac Ride around Prince Edward County. The ride begins at the Bloomfield Cycle Company. All ride levels are welcome. Distances will range between 55 to 100 km, with many optional cut off points.
Peterborough Lilac Ride
Date: May 19, 2024
Time: 10:00
Location: Beavermead Park
2011 Ashburnham Drive, Peterborough
Description: 40 or 61 km, C or B level rides. There will be a stop at Young ‘s Point, for the longer version, where there will be washrooms and a store for purchasing refreshments. Post ride social at The Ashburnham Ale House.
